چکیده

Background: This retrospective cohort study examines clinical and radiological outcomes of revision total hip arthroplasty (THA) using uncemented extensively porous coated mono block femoral stems. Methods: Patients who were operated for THA at medical college Baroda, between January 2008 to December 2018, had least 36 months follow up included in the study. Details retrieved from hospital records. Harris score (HHS) was used functional outcome Paprosky classification bone defects. Results: Mean age patients 60.1 year (range 35-86 years), mean 84 40-126 months), type 1 defect found 4 hips, 2 20 hips 3a 21 hips. HHS improved pre-operative 30 post-operative 78 (p=0.0104). Expected survival 5 10 years more than 95%. No stem loose end up. Thigh pain proximal osteolysis most common complications. Conclusions: Extensively cylindrical stems give good short midterm

Revision Total Hip Arthroplasty Using an Extensively Porous Coated Femoral Stem

BACKGROUND To determine the benefit of an extensively porous coated femoral stem in patients receiving revision total hip arthroplasty. METHODS This study reviewed the results of 35 patients who received a revision total hip arthroplasty with extensively porous coated femoral stem between August, 1996, and December, 2002. The mean follow-up period was 77.5 months. The clinical and radiologica...

Clinical and radiological outcome following total hip arthroplasty with an uncemented trabecular metal monoblock acetabular cup.

Uncemented acetabular components are associated with a significant incidence of polyethylene wear and secondary osteolysis. The new tantalum/polyethylene composite (Hedrocel) acetabular component is designed to reduce the polyethylene wear and to increase the longevity of the acetabular cups. We report our short- term clinical outcome and patient satisfaction following use of an uncemented tant...

Modular Femoral Tapered Revision Stems in Total Hip Arthroplasty

Background: Modular component options can assist the surgeon in addressing complex femoral reconstructions in total hip arthroplasty by allowing for customization of version control and proximal to distal sizing. We review the early clinical results of a single modular femoral revision system that offers 3 proximal body types, 5 distal stem geometries, and a wide range of offset, sizing and aux...

Eradication of infection, survival, and radiological results of uncemented revision stems in infected total hip arthroplasties

Background and purpose - The use of uncemented revision stems is an established option in 2-stage procedures in patients with periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) after total hip arthroplasty (THA). However, in 1-stage procedures, they are still rarely used. There are still no detailed data on radiological outcome after uncemented 1-stage revisions. We assessed (1) the clinical outcome, includi...
